Cookie Policy
Last reviewed: 5 August 2026. This policy will be finalised with legal counsel before public launch, but the substance below reflects how Avarius uses cookies and local storage today.
What cookies we use
Avarius uses a small number of essential cookies and browser storage entries needed to operate the platform. At minimum, this includes session and authentication cookies set by Supabase (our authentication provider) that keep you securely logged in as you move between pages, and remember your session so you don't need to log in on every visit.
We keep this minimal
In this phase of Avarius, we do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. As the platform grows, we may introduce analytics or marketing cookies — if we do, this policy will be updated and, where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Legal basis
Our use of essential cookies is necessary to provide the Avarius service you've requested (staying logged in, keeping your session secure), which is a permitted basis for processing under both POPIA and section 45 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act), which does not require consent for cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies on a per-site basis. Please note that blocking essential cookies will likely prevent you from staying logged in or completing purchases on Avarius.
